I'm an Australian who's just visited your wonderful country and I've travelled on your bullet trains, going from Shanghai to Beijing last month when I went to China ???? and I was blown away with how fast, clean comfortable and efficient the train was. I travelled in Economy class, and even there, the seats were comfortable. I also went on another bullet Train from Beijing to Xi'an and even that train was great to travel on, your rail system and your highways leave anything we have in Australia for dead.

Hi from Australia. Great video from two reporters who are obviously proud of their nations achievements. For the last 10 years, I have had the honor of training young men from China as airline pilots. These young men are a credit to their country and their parents, exceedingly polite, friendly and sociable. The local community where they are billeted have have become very fond of the cadets, they have become very much part of our community. China is learning a lot from us, be we are also learning a lot from them. It's wonderful to see the videos coming out of China lately, the country is developing rapidly and the young people there have a drive to make their life better. Thank you for the English video.?

Very impressive. From what I know only two countries in the world operate wheeled trains at 350 km/h. China and Spain. I belive Germany is second operating wheeled trains at 330 km/h followed by France and Japan at 320 km/h. The rest of the high speed train countries operate at 300 km/h or less.?

This is most impressive and sad. Impressive for China, sad for my state, California, USA. It is like pulling teeth to get our high speed train built here in California, that will go from northern to southern California.
Meanwhile, Europe and Asia have these advanced beautiful trains. (Of course I admit that our biggest problem is our nation's love affair with cars, big gas guzzling cars weighing two tons to transport one person to work.)
Anyway, I'm most impressed with this technology. China is building so fast. I remember the old days when China was under the iron hand of Communist rule. A large nation, but borderline 3rd world country.
This train is the epitome of what a nation can do if it is willing to put money into infrastructure. What we have here in the San Francisco Bay Area is "CalTrain," an almost antique railroad. We have BART, but even that system is very old and only recently have they ordered new cars (the current cars are from the 1970s!)
However, in lieu of trains next to the tracks are the miles of freeways, where the poor people are traveling in $30,000 cars, middle class in $50,000 cars, and wealthy in cars $70,000 to $120,000.
Oh well, maybe in 10 years we might see some bullet trains as nice as China Railway.

In fact the buttons (which can be seen at 07:52 ) are 100% FROM the iCE, they are exactly the same, either made in China or simply purchased from Siemens. The doors and windows etc all almost exactly the same. The front has been changed quite a bit, but even there the lighting arranegments are the same as the ICE. This is obviously a Chinese derivative of the Siemens ICE.?
