每天堅持“用英語閱讀”一篇英語短文， “逼”自己說英語2
這篇英語短文很簡單， 可是你還在用譯成中文讀嗎？
有人在“讀”下面對話時， 是把它逐步句翻譯成中文來理解的。 他們這樣做其實是在“學英語”， 因為課文內容對他們來說本身就存在需要“消化”的需求。
有人在“讀”下面對話時， 是“讀英語， 想英語來理解的”， 他們已經是上升到在“使用英語”了。
你是哪一種？
1) 先“讀”一遍(你怎麼“讀”？)
Lisa : How do you want your eggs , Mary? Cindy likes hers scrambled.
Mary : Sunny-side up , please.
Lisa : The toaster is over there on the kitchen counter. Help yourself.
Mary : What kind of bread do we have?
Lisa : White and whole-wheat.
Mary : I think I'll have two slices of whole wheat.
Lisa : Can you go wake up Cindy for me?
Mary : Sure.
Lisa : She's a late riser.
2) “使用英語”訓練：你能“讀英語說英語”嗎？
1. Lisa : How do you want your eggs , Mary?
“說”：Well,when you ask someone：How do you want your egg? you mean：
How would you like your egg to be cooked.
So,we can say：How do you want your egg? We can also say：How would you like your egg to be cooked? They are the same.
2. Cindy likes hers scrambled.
下次你把scramble an egg給忘記了， 你這麼“說英語”， 別人也能知道你說的是scramble an egg：
“說”：Well, when we cook,or fry an egg, we beat an egg, that is, we mix and stir the whites and yolks together, and cook them until they get firm.
這就是scrambled egg(碎炒蛋)。 光記住， 會說中文“碎炒蛋”是不行的，
3. Mary : Sunny-side up , please.
“說”：Well, sunny side up means you fry,or cook your egg on only one side. The egg yolk(the yellow liquid of the egg) is still runny,your egg yolk looks like a bright morning sun.
如果見到或想到雞蛋的sunny-side up， 你想不到， 說不出類似這樣的英語， 而只能“說中文”：半邊煎， 這算是怎樣的英語口語學習呢？
Sunny-side up一詞正是給我們練口語的好機會。
4. Lisa : The toaster is over there on the kitchen counter.
“說”：Well, a toaster is a machine for toasting a slice of bread, for heating a slice of bread.
When bread is cut into slices, and is eaten heated in a toaster, we call this bread toast.
When bread is eaten cold, the bread is still called bread.
“說”：Well a kitchen is room for cooking food,or meaks, such as for cooking breadfast, lunch and dinner.
這個英語不是kitchen嗎？難道中文“廚房”才是kitchen嗎？
5. Help yourself.
“說”：When we say：Help yourself, we mean：Enjoy your meal, or your food.
6. Mary : What kind of bread do we have?
Lisa : White and whole-wheat.
“說”：Well,white bread is white in color, and whole bread is also called brown bread because it is brown in color.
Mary : I think I'll have two slices of whole wheat.
7. Lisa : Can you go wake up Cindy for me?
“說”：When we wake somebody up, we stop them from sleeping, and ask them to get up.
8. Mary : Sure.
“說”：Sure means：Of course,Certainly,No problem,Why not?
9. Lisa : She's a late riser.
“說”：Are you a late riser?
If you are a late riser, you get up very late. You stay in bed until late in the morning.You oversleep.
如果我上面“說”的這些英語， 你“都會”， 那麼你應該問：通過訓練， 我有什麼理由不能也自己這麼“說”？以前“不會說”， 不過是從來沒有人這麼訓練我罷了。
當英語成為我們的“理解語言”， 當我們“用英語掌握英語”成為“能力”的時候， 英語不過是我們的一種“方言”罷了。
