America Mineiro got promoted to the Serie A as champions of the second tier but have shown this summer they could struggle to maintain the category. They have won only one of the last four, losing the other three while conceding five goals and not being able to score in those three defeats. They lost by a 3-0 aggregate on the semifinales of the Mineirao against Atletico, and won’t have it easy against a Vitoria side that last season finished with 43 points outside of the relegation spots on goal difference.
They have enjoyed a great summer making it to the final of the Baiano after leading the regular season. They lost against Atletico 2-1 the second fixture of the Serie A after drawing to Flamengo in the opener, but managed an impressive 0-0 draw away to Corinthians in the cup and are unbeaten in three of the last four played in all competitions.
Vitoria is the better side and are unbeaten in eight of the nine games ever played to America, winning six and losing only one of the four ever played away, so we expect them to collect at least a point here.
