文峰觀坐落於長江三峽巫峽口以北， 頂峰海拔720米， 距巫山縣城19公里。 西元1786年（乾隆51年）以前文峰觀稱為“淩雲觀”， 它輻射到高唐千年古觀和朝元觀， 訴說著千百年以來巫山人民的歷史滄桑與風骨， 該觀為道教全真龍門派道觀， 史載著巫山道教文化。

線路交通
A、巫山平湖市場有兩輛專線公車對開到達文峰峰頂，每天5-10趟，票價十元。每天早晨6：00，8：00，10：00發車，最遲下午5：00返回從山頂往下走。
B、如果自駕，巫山出發301省道，過龍門橋，回頭線轉兩坪方向過植物園，七星小學處進入縣道，最後到達峰頂從山頂往下走，還有一條直達上文峰觀新修公路，不過這條路坡度大。
C、在移民廣場下邊江南片區的班車，票價十元，到大橋後原收費處大門開始登山。
D、到古城碼頭趕高龍嘴過河渡船至175水位處（箜篌沱），開始爬一段山路，到公路大橋原收費處，開始走新修步道石梯。
