Cheese的種類有很多, 在超市選購或是餐廳點餐的時候常常無法下手, 今天的節目我們就來普及一下關於cheese的知識。
記得聽節目, John會給大家分享在美國大家怎麼挑選cheese。
今天節目的第一部分, 我們來講講Household cheese -家常芝士
#1. American cheese 美式芝士 (like in Subway. 就像賽百味裡的芝士。 )
American kids often eat this cheese in their sandwiches too. 美國的小孩子也經常在三明治裡夾著吃。
It's a processed cheese. 是一種加工過的混合乾酪(不是天然的)
But it still has milk in it, usually. Should be okay. 但裡面還是含牛奶的, 大部分情況下吧。 還過得去。
#2. Cheddar cheese 車打芝士
有兩種車達芝士很常見:
Strong Cheddar 濃味車打
Mild Cheddar 淡味車打
But the flavor is stronger than American cheese. 但是味道比美式芝士重。
Also there's another kind of cheese with even a milder flavor. It's called Monterey Jack. 其實還有一種芝士的口味更淡, 叫蒙特雷傑克乳酪。
It's also kind of white, yellow white color? 而且他的顏色也偏白, 奶黃色的?
#3. Swiss cheese 瑞士(大孔)芝士
Swiss cheese is a little bit hard, and has holes in it. 瑞士芝士有點硬, 而且上面有小洞洞的。
Also Swiss cheese is the kind of cheese you always see in cartoons, that the mouse.... 而且瑞士芝士是你在卡通片裡會常見的,
#4. Mozarella cheese 馬蘇里拉芝士
Often just like a piece, just cut it with the knife. 切成薄薄的片。
Or you can put it on a cracker. 或者放在餅乾上也行。
We often eat Cheddar with crackers, maybe apples. 我們通常會車打芝士配餅乾, 或是蘋果。
#5. Parmesan cheese 帕莫森芝士(粉)
#6. Easy cheese 罐裝芝士
Well, you're supposed to like put it on a cracker or something. Or put it in a sandwich? But some people just put it in their mouths.嗯, 你應該是要把它放在一塊餅乾或是什麼東西上面的。 要麼夾在三明治裡?但有些人就直接倒在嘴裡。
I don't like it, but some people like it. 我不喜歡, 但有人喜歡。
You don't need to use a knife. 你不用用刀切啊。
第二部分:European cheese 歐洲產的芝士 ( fancy 高端的 )
#1. Gouda cheese 黃波芝士
Sometimes it's a little bit brown. 有時候有點棕色的。
Little bit smoky 有點煙熏味
Snack on it 當零食吃
I really like this cheese, but I didn't have it when I was little growing-up in the States. 我很喜歡這種芝士,但是我在美國小時候時候沒得吃。
Middle-class family 中產階級家庭
#2. Edam cheese 紅波芝士
Sometimes it's a little bit bitter right? 有時候有點苦是吧?
But I think Edam and Camembert look very similar. 但是我覺得紅波芝士和卡芒貝爾乳酪看起來很像。
Yeah, I like Gouda, I don't have Edam very often, but it's okay. 嗯,我很喜歡黃波芝士,我不太吃紅波芝士,但是都不錯。
#3. Parmesan cheese 帕莫森乾酪
Shave a little bit 刨一點下來
#4. Buffalo Mozarella 水牛馬蘇裡芝士
#5. Brie cheese 布利乳酪
#6 Camembert 卡芒貝爾乳酪
Cheese plater 芝士盤
Semi-soft cheese 半軟的芝士
Easy to eat 吃起來很方便
#7. Feta cheese 菲達乳酪
It's often in salads too. 也經常放在沙拉裡。
#8. Blue cheese 藍波芝士
Yeah if you can drink beer, you can eat blue cheese. 嗯,如果你能喝啤酒,你也能是藍波芝士。
