On a graphic level, this works very well as a mixture of perfect symmetry (the circle) and asymmetry (the chair), but it also works well suggestively — we want to walk in and see what’s behind the door.

I don’t know what kind of event this is, with someone in the traditional headdress of a Native American , and while I’m intrigued, it’s not central to the success of this very strong image. It has energy. expression, gesture, moment, and the photographer isn’t afraid to move right in close.

What I particularly like here is the photographer’s tonal and colour control, as well as the wise decision to make it a wide panorama. It would have been tempting to expose more brightly to show more detail, but here we’re left with a mysterious atmosphere, and at first glance the impression of a blood-red moon. Very atmospheric.

There were also inevitably, many photographs of children, and while the great temptation is to go for ‘cute’, this image stands out for such natural and vivacious expressions and actions, even though the situation itself is set up.

I like the quiet, unforced expressions, which create an intimate feeling, and of course the lighting, which cleverly plays on contrast between man and woman. The edge-lighting on the man’s face and spectacles is particularly striking.
我喜歡這種安靜的、自然的表達，營造出了一種親密的感覺，當然還有光，很巧妙地在男人與女人間進行了對比。男人臉和眼鏡上的邊緣光尤其引人注目。

Few of us can resist shooting a rainbow, because we don't often get the chance. Nevertheess, there are a lot of rainbow photographs out there, so a successful image needs something else, and here the photographer has cleverly related it to the curved sweep of the wall. Clear thinking in composition!
幾乎沒有人能忍住不去拍彩虹，因為我們不常有這樣的機會。儘管如此，現在已經有很多彩虹拍攝者，所以一張優秀的照片需要其他的東西。這張照片的拍攝者很聰明地把彩虹跟彎曲的牆圍聯繫起來。在構圖上想得很清楚。
