世界大學排名(CWUR)中心公佈了其2017年度排名， 其中27所澳洲高校上榜。
此次最新排名榜中， 美國哈佛大學連續6年獲得榜首， 斯坦福大學和麻省理工學院排名二、三位， 其次是劍橋和牛津， 而排名澳洲第一的則是悉尼大學。
而澳洲第一的悉尼大學則排名世界第74位， 比去年的95位有所提升。
在澳洲排名第二的墨爾本大學此次排名世界第82位， 昆士蘭大學排名世界第94位， UNSW排名世界第105位。
世界大學排名中心表示：“與去年相比，
The performance of Australia’s representatives in the top 1,000 has generally improved in 2017 compared to last year, but further funding should be invested in research if the country aspires to increase its competitiveness on the global stage,” Dr. Nadim Mahassen, President of the Center for World University Rankings, said.
當然了， 美國仍然是全球高等教育的主導力量， 在此次排名前1000名中， 美國上榜225所高校， 其次是中國(97)、日本(71)、英國(65)和德國(57)。
