China is a truly underratedcountry in terms of natural beauty

Yeah, I hate titles like this. Just because youweren't aware of it before, it doesn't mean it's underrated on a global scale.Just put the location and let it be beautiful in its own right.

People from different countries have differentview. I'm a Vietnamese, when talking about "travelling to China", wethink of the mountains and monasteries, rural farmland and such. It's probablybecause of the influence from Chinese heroic drama series, and that our culturederived from ancient Chinese culture. For Westerners, they think of the bigcities like Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou.

Xin cháo, a few months ago I was in Vietnam. Greatlandscape and lovely people! I also think the Title is bad...every place on earthhas some wonderful spots and saying that something is underrated implies thatthe general consensus is well defined, which it clearly isn′t in that example.

I'm from the UK, I always think of Jiuhuashan orZhāngjiājiè Gōngyuán in Wulingyuan. Obviously that is anecdotal but I think itis a matter of education.

Westerners just think about a perceived contentiousaspect of Chinese politics that nobody in China cares about

Or the women.

[–]1blockologist 0 points 29 days ago*

That enough Westerners find asian women, who have ahigh chance of being Chinese, cute.

I guess it's just perception. When I think of China I automatically think of the 'business china' withmegalopolis, big industry, and pollution. I have found that there are incredibly beautiful areas almost anywhere in the world. All the more reason to travel more!

I was in Beijing and absolutely hated it, manypeople were rude, the streets were disgusting, the air quality was horrible andit was a really bad experience from what I expected. Fast forward to today andmy friend who has family there is sending me snapchats of Beijing and I didn'trecognize it at all. It was really well maintained and beautiful. I asked herwhere she was and she told me the same city I was in, but away from the majorareas. I didn't realize just how big "Beijing" was. It was a realsurprise!
